Where Do You Find Your Purpose?-June 2010
I had the privilege of watching a gorgeous sunset on my balcony tonight, for the third night in a row! Thank you Lord! Such a blessing...It was full of vibrant orange, pink, purplish blue and light blue colors...it was extraordinary. And it made me in an instant want so much just to take a moment with God. I brought my Bible outside and started reading in Colossians about how everything, absolutely EVERYTHING under heaven and earth finds its purpose in Him. That is a pretty bold staement, but so wonderful too! We cannot find purpose outside of Him.
But oh how we try...and it always eventually leaves us feeling desperately empty. Strange that we keep trying when we know the end result! But wow, when we make Him and the things of Him and His heart what we dwell on, it is there we find our purpose. It reminds me of the Wemmicks in Max Lucado's books....they are all created by Eli the woodcarver, yet they go to each other to find purpose, instead of running to Eli. It will never work! We need to go to our Creator...He made us, so He absolutely knows what He made us for and delights in helping us to discover it. :)
What is your purpose? Are you stuck in the day-in, day-out getting by or surviving? Do you ever wonder what it REALLY is you are supposed to be doing? Do you have a desire to do something that matters? Do you want purpose to be deep in your heart?
Seek Him...His word says that we find our purpose in Him. Period. Not in Him and our friends, not in Him and our spouse, not in Him and our money...just in Him and Hiim alone. Of course, in order to find our purpose in Him, it requires time with Him and in His presence. Make the time-when the drive in your heart is steered by the purpose you find in Christ, NOTHING will be able to stop you. You have purpose, eternal purpose, and you know where to find it...so Go! :)
