Facing the Giants-July 2010
In the movie, there is a scene where a football player has to do the "death crawl" as far as he can down the field, but the coach blindfolds him. He tells him he is blindfolding him because he doesn't want him to quit a certain point because he sees where he is...he wants him to truly give his best not dependent upon where he is.
I wonder sometimes if God keeps our eyes from seeing everything around us to in order to build us to push on in His strength, knowing that if we saw where we were exactly, we would stop and get cozy and quit pushing forward because we would think where we were was "pretty good, or good enough". But God has so much more for us...
I was thinking about how God desires my best toward Him...and He will inconvenience me in whatever way needed in order to push me to what I'm capable of through Him...because He loves me. I can't help but think too, that God is like the coach in the movie, screaming in the kids ear "C'mon! You can do it! Don't you quit on me! You can do this!"
Think about it...the God of the universe cheering us on. No heart can imagine what He has in store for us...
