Sometimes the littlest things put a smile on your face...
So yesterday I stopped home quickly before I went to prayer service. I went out on my balcony to check on my "plantees" as I've come to call them. :) And I look and see what I thought to be a toad. I was so confused, how had a toad come up to my 3rd story balcony? hmm. Well then of course I pick it up and start talking to it. Though it looked like it had bumpy dry skin, it was smooth and slimy just like a frog! So I thought, ok... how did a frog get up here? I was litterally laughin out on my balcony thinking about this frog that showed up. So then I notice he has sort of sticky feet and big toes--he is some sort of tree frog! Well that is fine and good, by the closest tree is a good 6 feet away. It then became clear to me that this little guy climbed all the way up the brick side of the apt. complex and came up on my balcony! Prince charming? Maybe...but more likely a little smile sent by God because he knows the fun little things I love. :) I quickly got attached and named my little prince Sticky-feet Stanley, Stan for short. I kept him overnight and brought him to work today to show the kids. They loved him too! We let him climb up the chalkboard, lol...an experience I'm sure most tree frogs do not get to have. We tried to release him at the woods at the edge of the playground, but he wouldn't get off my wrist. So I took him back home tonight and released him in the retention pond type area across the street from where I live. He looked happy when he finally got off my hand. :) Cute little guy. And that is my little smile.
One more funny-I often talk to the children about germs and how they spread, because kids are gross and spread germs everywhere (however this does not diminish my love for them. ;)) so I hear the kids on the carpet and one says "I don't want your germs...I don't know where they've been!" Haha..I loved it. As if germs that have been in clean places are no worry. Hehe. :) They pass out so many smiles a day to me. How precious.
Well world, it is long past my bedtime. Tomorrow is a long day but full of great things. JRA Women's Rally! Can't wait.
